Friends from home, fangirls and crazy nights in halls.

0

Hey hey.

Like I said in my last post, Im going to be writing about my douchebag friends from Cardiff, and some nights in halls that have made me laugh stupid amounts. Im also going to talk about some of the things I tend to fangirl over because I can't talk about my friends at home without talking about said fangirly things.

Going to start with:

Crazy nights in halls.

Seeing as everyone here is starting to run out of their loan, there is never a dull moment here, unless people actually cant be arsed to get out of their rooms.
Hannah and I returned from home on Sunday, and seeing as I have a presentation due in next week which Ellie and I hadnt started, I thought it would be a fantastic idea to sit in the kitchen and bang some stuff out. Of course, seeing as it is a COMMUNAL kitchen Hannah, Ryan and Eric came in to make food, which distracted Ellie and I. After everyone had eaten, Eric decided he wanted to eat something sweet. About a week earlier Ellie and I had made alcoholic jelly which neither of us had eaten, so I suggested he ate that. Note to all: dont let/give bored uni students jelly. Ryan decided he wanted some aswell. This turned into a jelly fight between Ryan and I. Literally everyone got jelly chucked at eachother, and me and Ryan got it down our tops. This also ended up in tears(metaphorical) as I decided to chase Ryan with it seeing as he chucked it at my face. I ended up slipping over and bruising my knee quite badly. My knee has only just gone down from Sunday.
They also broke me that night. Eric and Ryan enjoy doing this thing where they, in turn pull faces while you're not looking they look away when you do. IT IS NOT FUN!! It makes you super paranoid.

In my previous post's I have mentioned about spending a night in 5300's hall eating pizza and drinking? Well basically, this started off as a completely different idea. I had this idea where we all went up, had a few drinks, ordered food and play this American game called Cards against Humanity(Each round, one player asks a question from a Black Card, and everyone else answers with their funniest White Card) and people seemed to be up for it, when we finally went up there, people were doing various things like dungeons and dragons or ironing. Seeing as Hannah and I enjoy floors quite a lot, we sat down, and people just congregated. In the end almost everyone barr Austin and Munya was sitting with us listening to Georgia play guitar.

I probably could mention more, like the time my friend Lowri came up and we got her drunk for the first time ever, but I dont really want to. :)

Friends from home and fangirling.

Like I said at the top, I cant really mention my friends from home without mentioning my fangirl tendencies because they kind of tie together.
I first met my 2 best friends going to a gig in Birmingham.
I had heard of them before as we've followed eachother on twitter since like 2009 or some shit like that and i'd spoken to them before. But we met properly going to see The Wanted.
Shannon and Hannah are two of the WEIRDEST people ive ever met in my entire life but I swear to God I could not live without them. They're like my sisters and I miss them so so much its unreal, which is most of the reasons I go home so often. Then there's Jenny. I dont even know what to say about Jenny, she is just as weird as Shannon and Hannah, but at the same time, a lot more normal. She makes me laugh a lot and I love her a lot. Then you've got Amy, who ive only recently met this summer, but seriously, if you dont love her as soon as you meet her, theres something wrong with you. Amy and Jenny are legit like twins, im not even joking, they're so alike, they could be sisters.

Dannii and Lowri are my little fetus friends, however Lowri is a lot more innocent than Dannii in the sense that Danni is an alcoholic and Lowri has only recently got drunk for the first time and that was technically my housemates fault ;-)
I met Lowri through a fetus band called Kingsland who are my babies through and through. We went to Birmingham(again) to see them for the first time, and we BOTH fell in love with them. If you dont know who they are, I suggest you go and watch them on youtube because they are fabulous, especially if you're into the whole pop, boy band type.

Kingsland are also the reason I went home this weekend. On Saturday, it was the first time they have come to Cardiff, so obviously being a fangirl for them, I couldnt miss it. And they delivered. We all got front row and I got so much stage love its unreal.
Seeing as they have exploited my bra chucking throughout all types of media, I thought I would do it again. It landed on Thompson's head :-)
Connor decided to jump of the stage and sing to me, Jay thrusted in my face and Josh, well Josh was just perf with me. We exchanged knowing glances at eachother, then by the time he'd come over to my side of the stage, he kissed my hand and told me I was his fave.
Half way through their set, the compere came onto the stage, and they all had a full blown conversation about my boobs/bra which was awkward, especially because the compere happened to be one of my mums old friends, which I hadnt realized until AFTER he adjusted them so they weren't "wonky"

After that, everything went a bit pair shaped, but not at the same time, the club did a tiny meet and greet sesh, I instantly ran over to josh andgave him a HUGE hug, to which all the boys took the piss because my boobs were going EVERYWHERE, but it didnt bother me because Josh decided to open his shirt and give me a sneak peak of his 6pack, and he also told me he was wondering whether I was going to be there or not. The security were being massive pricks that night, and wouldnt let me into VIP even though some of my friends were, however all the boys did try, which makes me happy. Josh got the time they were leaving in the morning for me though, so we could go see them before they left.

In the morning the boys were SUPER cute. Matt and Thomps came down first and Matt asked if me and Josh were getting married? and Thomps

said I cracked him up because I ran straight to Josh the night before. they proceeded to go outside for a fag and they kept looking at us creepily.
Then Josh and Connor came down and me and Josh had a full blown conversation while everyone else was stood around awkwardly listening to us, he said to Hannah and Danni, "sorry girls, im giving Kirsten preferential treatment, because we have a special connection." They then left after hugs and selfies and then about 5 minutes later Jay came rushing down because he was late, he took quick selfies and hugged us and ran to the van.

I love these boys to death.
Thats all for now, I dont know what i'm going write about in my next post so it'll have to be a suprise bahah.

University course and Americans.

0

Hi,

I know I only did one yesterday but seeing as im going home this weekend again(yay!) I though i'd update today.

In yesterdays post I spoke about the people I lived with that were British and going to be living with for nearly the whole year. Today I'm going to write about my course, the people I speak to on my course, and some of the Americans that are here on this placement thing called BCA, which lets people study abroad.

Americans

Around 30 Americans moved into Regency a couple of days before we did but got to go to Cornwall while we were moving in, so we had the pleasure of meeting them the first Monday we were here.
Hannah, Eric, Catherine and I live with 3 guys called Chris, Nick and Ben.

After about an hour of meeting these 3, two girls came bursting into our kitchen called Kaitlyn and Hope and are super lovely and really easy-going. They tend to come out with us sometimes if we go out on a wednesday. They also came out with us on Halloween along with two guys they live with called Tanner and Sam who also live with them. We met Tanner and Sam while pre-drinking with Hope and Kaitlyn a completely seperate time. They're both stupidly cool and really nice.

Along with these four, we also met Jazmin and Austin, who are the CUTEST couple ever. I met Austin first because he's in my management class. Austin is hilarious, like super fun to be around and really easy to have a good chat and banter with. Jazmin, I met just after, but just like Austin, is completely awesome and has the best banter ever. Like, you could just be sitting their and be in fits of laughter because of what they say to eachother. It goes something like this.. "I really like ____, its so much better than ____" "Shut up man, you're stupid."  They also know the most hilarious drinking games including slap cup and chandelier.

Slap cup = you down a drink with a partner, and the first to finish gets to slap the other person's cup out of their hand. (this gets very messy)
Chandelier = every person playing has a cup in the middle surrounding another cup, which everyone pours a bit of their drink into(shit mix) and you have to bounce a ping pong ball, and aim for the shit mix. If you get the ball into another persons drink, you both have to drink. As soon as you're finished you have to flip the cup over, if you do this last, you're out of the game. If the ball lands in the shit mix, everyone has to drink, and the last person to flip their cup has to drink the shit mix. (very good to get drunk)

Austin and Jazmin have a vlog channel called "The Wanderlusters" to tell people how their trip abroad is going . I recommend people go and watch these videos because they are great and im still trying to get them to let me be in one.

There is also Daniel and Ashley who live on the same floor as Austin and Jazmin, and they are also really, really lovely. They are into very geeky(cool) things such as Dungeons and Dragons, cats, and marvel, as far as I know, which automatically makes them awesome(especially the cats thing)

Nearly all the Americans are going home in December barr 4 which makes me sad because I reckon I'll miss them, especially Hope and Kaitlyn. However, i'm slightly more happy because we get Austin, Jazmin, Ashley and Daniel until April.

Course

For the duration of the next 3 years I will be studying Music and Media management.
Even though this wasn't my original choice(original choice = film studies) I think I'm going to enjoy it. At the moment, I'm enjoying 2/4 modules. These are "Mapping out the music industry" and "The Film Industry Business Structure" the other 2 (Web design and management) bore the shit out of me. Luckily we can choose our own modules next year!
The good thing about my course is that i'm on it with a bunch of awesome people. I don't really talk to a few of the people that much but the ones I do speak to I absolutely adore.

Laura and Emily live over at Park campus and I don't think I would be able to do my course without them there. They legit make the course. I'd spoken to Emily before we even started uni when she popped up in my interactions on twitter telling me we were on the same course and tagged Laura in the tweet so I knew those two were definitely going to be there. It does make things easier knowing that both of them are into most of the same things as me(boybands, reading and such.) Theyre both going to be living with Hannah, Ryan, Eric and I which is a massive bonus aswell. SUPER EXCITED!

Next up is Liam. Liam also lives in regency, so tends to pre-drink with us if he goes out, and if we are out, he is NEVER sober and it is hilarious. I'm pretty sure the last time we went out together, he was in our flat at 4am with Hannah and Catherine and let them paint his nails black, then cleaned it off with our dish scourer. Apart from being super drunk and hilarious, hes also a really nice kid and so easy to get along with.

There is also Ellie, Catherine and another girl called Charlotte who I talk to pretty much most of the time.

A lot of the time, if I see people from my course out and about, there are some pretty weird conversations thrown about, and some very odd photos.

I think that's quite enough for this post. In my next post I'll be talking about my friends at home and crazy nights in with people in my flat.

1st post

0

Hi there.

So, I've been in university for over 2 months now and so far I'm a bit iffy about it.
For the first month or so, I was completely fine. I met my flatmates who includes Hannah, who is one of the most fabulous people I have ever met because simply, she is me. She goes from geeky to cool to hostile in a matter of seconds, and its very hard to keep up with what mood shes in but shes also very hard not to love. I class her as my "uni best friend" because I know that I can go to her if im sad, or if I have a problem, and vise versa.
Next, theres Eric. He was the second flatmate I met and also the quietest. I think on the first night drunk I told him he was too quiet and that I wanted to mother him because he looked/was so young, which is slightly worrying. Anyway, despite me being weird to him drunk, he is one of the nicest people ever. Like I dont think you could ever hate him. He does have his dickish moments but the flat never fails to point it out to him and he cuts it out sharpish. He is also, like Hannah, a very geeky person, and he is called the "human hoover" because he eats everything.

Last of all is Catherine. She walked in on me struggling to put my food on my shelves when we all moved in. How to describe Catherine? Fed with a silver spoon is one way we like to joke about it. She has a slight obsession with Zac Efron, Aaron Johnson  and Bradley Cooper, and never fails to tell us about them any chance she gets. Her fashion sense is off the charts and the amount of clothes she has is phenomenal.

On the first day we kind of integrated with the flat above us which consists of Ellie, who is a fellow CDIFF gyal who is also on the same course. Ryan, who was introduced as "wedding boy" because he was at a wedding the first weekend of freshers. Munya, who literally makes my life with just his laugh. Stephen, a purple haired, friendly lad, and Georgia, a lass with ears of steel after listening to the music she does.

Seeing as Ryan and Hannah are officially going out, you might as well class him as one of our flatmates because he spends 95% of his time down here.

Ryan or "wedding boy" is one of the most laddish yet un-laddish boys you will ever meet. He enjoys football and house music. Yet i've been told he reads and plays piano. He, along with Eric, is one of the loveliest kids you will ever meet. He is absolutely hilarious and so considerate it makes you want to cry.  He also knows how to keep you included with the group, like if you're just sat in the corner quietly, he'll ask you if you're ok, or something along those lines. He's just an all-round good egg.

Next is Ellie, who is my absolute FAVE. She's so so fun to be around, and totally gets you. Ellie is super quiet when you first meet her but once you get to know her doesnt shut up. She is also a very considerate person and to be honest, shes SO laid back she might as well be lying down constantly. Like, I swear if you said you wanted to walk across hot coal and asked her to do it with you, she'd say yes.

We've all had a fair few nights out so far and they've all been pretty eventful. Like we've been out one night where Hannah and I were so drunk that we sat outside Jack Wills, and refused to get up. Eric then had to coax one of us up, go to get the other one up, then the one already stood up, would sit back down again.
We've also spent the night sat in 5300's flat corridor(Ryan and Ellies flat) eating Pizza and drinking.

I've also been here for Halloween, which I didn't actually make it in the club for. Not because I was so drunk, but because I needed the toilet and couldn't be arsed to wait another hour in the queue.
However the pre-drinks were quite amusing.

Included in these photos would be Austin, Jazmin and Liam who i'll talk about in my next post, then Hannah, Georgia and Hannahs friend Becky, who came down for halloween.

All the people above have made my uni experience a hell of a lot better but still, its super hard. Like I didn't realise moving away from uni would make me miss my family, friends and cat as much as I do. It's literally one of the scariest things I've had to do in my entire life, but its also been an experience I wouldn't take back I don't think. I've met so many great people over the past two months but also some not great people along with it.
It's also been stupid hard dealing with money and trying to find a job. Before I came to Cheltenham I was used to getting a regular income because of a part-time job I maintained for 4 years, but now the only thing ive had is little promotion jobs ive had for the clubs around the town centre, which isnt really enough to feed me for a month, so ive kind of had to rely on my mum a bit, which isnt great.
So fingers crossed I get one soon!!!

Thats all for now.
Im going to try and undate this as much as possible
